When I am logged in on my brokers platform/website and focused on a company/brn for example, and I am in the quotes and depth window, there are six columns listing price, volume and no on each half.
On the right hand side is the offer price (the price that sellers are willing to accept and sell their shares for), and the left hand side which is the bid price (the price that buyers are willing to pay and buy shares for), the volume columns are how many shares are currently offered for sale or currently required to purchase, and the no columns display how many are currently listed at each price point; the top row is the current bid/offer price and volume.
If a trade takes place at the price on the right hand side it is triggered by a buy transaction, if a trade takes place at the price on the left hand side it is triggered by a sell transaction.
