It's funny how we all pick up different things or, more bluntly, hear what we want to hear.
I heard how Mr Scali express his desire to diversify his shareholding as "retail businesses can be worth nothing tomorrow, it's really easy, correct?"
His UK ambition conflicts with his own analysis that there are incumbents with dominant "40% market share".
He won't touch leverage in his personal portfolio, yet he will gear NCK's property portfolio at 50% LVR and at times leverage to buy businesses. (Hold your breathe for any UK acquisition...)
