It was the first stock I ever bought, bought in at I think around $6 or $8, my first foray into the unknown of the Australian stock market, had an accident and received some dough from an insurance policy I had, I was sweating bullets, bought $10k worth in 2003, topped up on a few share offers after that and took the dividends as extra shares, always bought more when we got a few spare dollars, came into a bit of money in about 2005 and bought some more, then they did the 3 way split thing, got a bit nervy during the GFC and sold down about 30% to pay off the house and a couple of cars we had at the time. I shudder to think where I would be if I held onto those. I have often thought about doing the calculations but have decided I would rather not know. The rest is history, still holding the first CSL shares I ever bought, if I had my time all over again, I would only ever have bought CSL. Oh for that 20/20 hindsight eh !
