Auto and I have debated this over many a long red wine lunch at Cafe Sydney. I can only justify buying SEN when it is dirt cheap, hence my BUY orders were pre set from the 3c through to the low 5c. They always get triggered, eventually. My high 4c and low 5c BUYs were triggered on Friday. Then I usually have SELL orders in the 7c and 8c (it used to be 10's, 13's, 15's and higher, but not at the moment). I make money from this, and the fact this has been playing out for me for approaching seven years, that money is building. If I had simply been a "Long term holder" all that time, I would be sitting on paper losses and have missed out on decent amounts of cash.
If the SEN share price ever makes the sustained move north we have been waiting for many years, and crystallises the elusive "Value" that we believe has never been priced in (or not for a long time), I'll do my best to capture that too. I used to argue this with pavl, our man in New York, and then our lady in London, and now at length with Auto.
Auto mounts the most impassioned of investment cases for SEN. I'm usually believing him after the 5th bottle of wine, as the sun sets on Sydney Harbour and the restaurant tells us they are setting tables for dinner - we're welcome to move to the kitchen bar. However, the next day when I wake up with a sore head, I'm not sure I believe it. I call up Auto and tell him I think he's crazy. There is a cold dose of daily reality in in investing in SEN. I can't always believe in company management, but I can profit from investing.
