No one cares about profit or loss for a mining company or any other company for that matter (aside from tax), it's always about free cash flow - is more money in the bank or is it not
Usually the two are highly correlated but in RRL's case they generate a lot of cash, but it's not reflected in the P&L due to non-cash items (who cares, it's non-cash).
I'm not sure if today's cash flow numbers are up to scratch though.
