WOW has taken a substantial non-cash impairment on its NZ Countdown supermarkets business.
I've yet to read the above presentation but a quick read of the detailed sales results did not mention why it's declared an A$0.40 special dividend on top of the A$0.57 'normal' dividend.
Big W continues to be a problem child with sales down.
With the Australian supermarkets, January and February 2024 were poor but since then, trading seems to have somewhat improved if I accurately scanned the numerous comments from outgoing CEO Brad Banducci.
