Yes it is odd, but IMO it relates to which exchange the individual orders are executed on.

i.e. orders that go through the ASX can't be filled by orders going through Chi-X and vice versa.

You can see in my last post of TNP's market depth that there was actually a 1.4 buyer (ASX) and a 1.4 seller (Chi-X) but their orders didn't execute.


Here's a depth screen with a breakdown of what went though on both exchange today.

Looking at the "Volume" column;

A = Total volume
B = ASX volume
C = Chi-X volume
