In the 2015/2016 financial year, Mr Murrell was paid about $70k.

Seems like a pay rise to me in the most literal sense of the term.

Albeit if, as you say, the $30k was "only for two months work" then he took a hell of a pay cut in the 2015/2016 financial year didn't he?
