Shorting only increases buying power if the stock is in reasonable position. Shorting means you’ll have to eventually buy and at a low price as new investors are taking advantage. That means there is a stronger uptrend, not so noticeable with stocks though. You’d want inside information to be shorting WZR otherwise your better making money elsewhere.
