It was already too late when the announcement was released on Monday. If the holders want the company to hold an EGM the company has to call the EGM (i.e. announce the meeting) within 21 days, and the meeting must be held within 2 months.
So even if the fund had received the formal request on Monday (which it says it had not) then the fund would be under no obligation to announce the meeting before the end of the month, and wouldn't have to hold the meeting before mid February.
