Fact:

If (and this "if" is an absurd proposition that should be laughed at) Sundance ever produce a single tonne of iron ore it will be an inferior product to most current Pilbara blends and will be significantly more expensive to get to market than any of the high volume producers in the Pilbara. This fact is not disputed by anyone who has credibility in the industry.
Fact:
it would be far more expensive to lay rail lines in the Congo craton than in the Pilbara. The Pilbara is flat hard ground with undulating hills and sparce vegitation. It is relatively technically simple to lay a railway as demonstrated by FMG and Gina. No massive bridges and easy culverts.
The Congo crayon is inpenetrable rainforrest with massive annual rainfall and huge biodiversity across hundreds of km of massive rivers, huge gorges, swamps, mountain ranges, and huge changes in elevation. There is no infrastructure support and nobody has built a railway of any significance in the region in more than 60 years. Huge number of bridges needed and enourmous bunding and culverts. Massively more expensive. Again any and all industry players would share this view.
Fact:
It is not 23mt depth of water "just off the beach" at Lolabe. deep water ports are few and far between on the west coast of Africa for a reason. There is a south to north movement of silt and sand that makes any port a continual high cost dresging exercise. There are no ships the like of which you describe. Yeebtky in African waters not is there like to be in my lifetime.
Fact:
The Pilbara mines are more efficient for the obvious reason that they exist! Sundance mine is not efficient because it does not exist. It is a mirage. A fantasy.
Even in concept it is less efficient due to terrain, isolation, power cost, labour availability, and funding costs.
