No. this system is designed at 1.5MW and 6.6MWh. That is what is specified to meet the needs, that is what they’ve bought - a 4.5hr battery. Like all batteries it can discharge slower. The power rating is what the inverters, cabling and battery cell can provide continuously. The energy rating is what the battery cell can provide (albeit efficiency can vary between time periods).
If they didn’t want the power rating of 1.5MW Redflow could have saved costs and designed the system with less inverters and copper.
The Brisbane’s battery calls for a 4hr spec - EXACTLY what Redflow batteries are designed for. And EXACTLY the spec needed to balance the duck curve.
