I've been looking at the Santos thread about this (as have you) and the majority of posters there think this deal probably won't go ahead. Most think their shares are worth more than the offer price and that the various regulatory authorities won't approve a big ($25b market cap) Aussie asset going to overseas control. Many think their board haven't been upfront either, concealing two earlier takeover offers and approving this T/O without fully consulting shareholders. And who knows what effect it would have on ROG's dealings with Santos anyway. They are bound to fulfill existing contracts. I wouldn't think it's going to make a huge difference to us. Meanwhile we wait for some action at Killanoola . . . . . .
