I agree that CFCL's manufacturing plant is offshore but ''the greatest moral challenge of our time'' is a global issue according to the Labor Party; it knows no borders. With such strong feelings on the subject carbon mitigation it should not matter to the government where the technology is manufactured. It's all about the greater good.... And we all know about how strongly Labor feels about the greater good don't we?

Besides, if consecutive federal governments weren't so inward looking and beholden to the status quo the plant could quite as easily have been built in Australia. It's wasn't built in Germany because it would be cheaper. It was built there because of the market opportunities and supportive, visionary legislative framework.
