    Yes, it is simple.

    But we can thank financial advisers for making the simplistic, complicated.

    At the end of the day, it's difficult for fund managers (and their ego) to admit they can't compete with a simple index of stocks.

    Along the way, retail investors will continue to pay for underperforming junk.
