I'm just laughing at the fact Magellan's pre-COVID holdings are basically all back to record or near-record levels.
Had Magellan's entire investment team had a medically-induced coma for three years, the portfolio would have literally destroyed the benchmark given how hard Microsoft, Visa, MasterCard, Apple, AMSL, Google etc. have done. Even Meta and Netflix have roared back to life.
Just goes to show, this is exactly what happens when you keep touching your portfolio and time markets. One of the world's best resourced teams, whose sole job is to invest in global equities, and with all the glitz and glamour of having podcast guests like Janet Yellen, CEOs of global companies and former U.S. senators/CIA directors..... with all that this company's combined brainpower can't even figure out how to beat an S&P 500 Index Fund.
Yet, the sad irony, is that buyers of MFG stock think they can do better.
