I agree - "picking a side" is what you do when you're a footy fan (and tragically, what most of us do in all areas of life). In investing, it's a one way ticket to the poor house.
Few investment opportunities offer the luxury of qualities for for such conviction, and the few businesses that do offer conviction in their intrinsic values, do not offer it in investment outcome (they are highly sought after, especially as the Church of Warren has swelled with membership).
The good news is that you don't have to know the future on a binary outcome (such as are the prospects with PTM, imo) to make rational & profitable investment choices. Ultimately it's about position size relative to risks-vs-rewards, and how the risk in one position correlates with risks in other positions (diversity).
