@lostI don't know how sophisticated your investment experience is, but rotational trading using DCA is a very sound risk mitigation technique requiring no shorts and no derivatives to work.
Any suggestion to the contrary simply fails to understand the process.
FWIW I missed the MFG $13+ peak a couple of days ago, my sell was set at $13.38 and was never filled. I failed to read the US CPI print and the market reaction. My bad.
Never mind, I expect to buy more over MFG the next couple of weeks in the $11s and anticipate the buy back program will take some of my older acquisitions off me in the mid $13s.
As i have a time horizon of 3-5 years in this thing, waiting a month or 2 longer or shorter does not phase me at all.
To anyone who cares, I have doubled and tripled down on my cash flow positive, debt free, dividend paying gold miners over the last few weeks and have added a few high grade junior producers who will be gobbled up in M&A over the next 12 months or so. Will go in very heavily today with overnight fall in POG.
I believe my 2-5 bag expectation relies on buying quality companies at multi year lows then waiting 3-5 years. One looks like a fool at the beginning and a genius at the end, though neither is true. Having called the U308 low 3 years ago only to be 18months before the launch of SPUT. It was a very lonely place to be. EU stupidity and energy panic has deliver 5-10 baggers in each position held, so I am reluctantly selling (probably too soon) but with a very handy profit and a lot of cash.
This is not advice but people who wish to can learn from older folk, rather than be envious of them. I was once young too.
