What value as asset managers does MFG or any other listed Aussie asset manager provide going forward, especially when it comes to buying listed businesses around the world?
Not trying to troll, but I’m genuinely interested, as I’m not shorting but I’m on the other side as I hold some alt asset managers (full disclosure $PX and $DBRG in the USA)
I think the world is moving towards index funds on one side and alt asset managers on the other ….. who have the firepower/skills to make use of the same market inefficiencies that MFG and friends do
It seems like in 20 years Vanguard/Blackrock etc manage half assets in the world, Brookfield/Blackstone/KKR/alt asset managers the other lol
