It is not surprising the performance fee is low. Value-based funds tend to outperform in stagnant markets; the run over last six months or so has been quite strong.
Further, once a fund reaches certain scale it become difficult to outperform the market. Look at Buffet's efforts over the last 10 years. Unremarkable vs his early history.
Sustained FUM increases deliver far better long-term value than unrepeatable one-offs.
Falling AUD should continue to deliver benefits over '14 IMO.
