Yes distribution needs to be addressed from VGS and MGOC. I also noticed in the graph @FirestorMx has posted the starting point for YTD calculation is 4/1/2022. The normal YTD calculation is based on end of 31/12/2021 closing figure. These are small changes nothing to take away the message we are getting from the figures. For the month of January 2022 , MGOC performance is in line with the index fund around negative 3.7% for both.
As we have said for some time now, MFG performance is much better and in fact starting to beat indexes. As I said before you can not beat these companies in the portfolio during normal economy without stimulus. If you notice MSFT spent 68B on new gaming based companies just paying cash. Only companies of these nature with billions of free cash flow will have the financial power to keep growing even with tighter liquidity environment. This is only the beginning and let’s see what happens over next 12 months. Winning profile will ignore all the other things like divorces, CEO leaving incidents aside. MFG has to ensure there is no need to withdraw the FUM just on performance. This will attract new funds slowly I hope.
