You know there is panic selling when it drops 6% on the announcement of an index manager (predominantly) selling down its holdings. Despite the fact all major funds following the respective index are bound to recalibrate following a major decline in market cap.
These kind of daft moves are the only reason I see merit in active management going forward... the market truly is stupid.
