Amazon Alexa Guard Integration – Further Clarification
Home security provider Scout Security Limited ((ASX: SCT), "Scout" or "the Company") has been asked to provide further detail regarding the integration of its system with Amazon’s Alexa Guard, announced to the ASX on Wednesday 19 July.

Amazon integrates companies around the globe into the Alexa platform and, therefore, does not have individualised contracts with each integrating company. Amazon Alexa has standard terms of service, as does Scout, that end users would opt into at installation.

Scout has integrated with Amazon’s Alexa line of products since 2015. The Company has consistently communicated its position that maintaining best-in -class smart home integrations is core to the Scout offering. Scout does not charge customers for integrations; rather, the Company includes integrated features to differentiate Scout's offering from other providers and boost adoption of Scout’s platform.

Alexa Guard is a new feature of the Alexa platform that delivers some home safety and security features. The Company views Scout’s Alexa Guard integration therefore as a positive development that will further differentiate its offering, but has no basis to project the number of users that might be compelled to purchase Scout because of the integration. For that reason, and considering that Scout has long been sold as integrated with the Alexa platform, the announcement of this integration was marked as “not price sensitive”.
