re: Ann: Further Gas Flare From Egilabria 2 W... Can anyone give a rough idea on.

    1. How long to change the hammer bit and to start drilling again? Is that almost immediate? 2 days? What?

    2. They've said "two samples have been taken for detailed gas analyis"? How long is that likely to take?

    Two short term critical milestones.

The other information I'm focussed on understanding from yesterday's announcement

    1. "a gas zone was penetrated in the Doomadgee Supersequence in the Isa Superbasin at 1097 meters. Immediate gas to surface produced an 8-meter long flare from a peak gas show of 1417 units (238,400 ppm or
    approximately 23.8%)"

    2. Historical reference

" Gaslog readingsfor Egilabria 2 were showing less than 1 unit of background gas before the gas flare. In the nearby Egilabria 1 well (drilled by Comalco in
1991) an increase in background gas to just 16 units (3000 ppm or approximately 0.3%) accompanied the intersection ofthe same gas bearing rock unit."

    So 16 units in 1991 versus 1417 units from yesterday's 1097 reading.

They also referred to the Comalco drilling in 1991 as being about 8%
"Gasshowsin Egilabria 1 were still evident in zonesfrom 1300 metres down to the Lawn Shale where an 8% gasshow persisted from 1640 metresto the base ofthe formation at 1760 metres"

Not sure if the 23.8% (yesterday - not even in the target) versus 8% (1991) in the target zone - is telling us something....
