The great thing about heap leaching is that it can make money from low grade ore.
I think material from this at surface pre-strip zone would be run through an ore-sorter. Even material at say 0.06 g/t could be upgraded via bulk and particle ore sorting towards being economic. It would then be thrown on a heap leach pad. So there are ways they could even make very low grade pre-strip material economic.
There are many mines that would love to be able to make money from pre-strip material.

I also think this area would have lower priority in the mine plan and mined in the last phases of the operation.
