IMO the algorithmic trading bot is only doing what is is programmed to do. It will have been loaded with enough ammo to control the SP under normal trading conditions and is doing it's job nicely on behalf of it's master.

If and when there happens to be an announcement that causes a trading environment where demand for shares is high and the supply is inadequate to satisfy the buyer the bot will detect the anomaly and react accordingly saving it's ammo until the event subsides then get back to "Business as usual" where it can whittle away at the SP again whilst restocking enough ammo to stay in control.

The investment would amount to chicken feed for someone like Rick in comparison to the potential " ill gotten Gain$ ". YES IT'S NOT FAIR ! But Hey' like a few $million could potentially keep the Market cap down by a few hundred $million . So who cares if it's fair.

Who is it's master and what is their agenda?
