You're certainly right about Rio Tinto. I rate BHP higher in being more hands on, and somewhat more concerned about matters from the ground level & up.
But I do believe that RIO feels that they're onto something in the Paterson Region. If they find 2-3 other deposits like Winu, even if it's low grade copper, this would mean that RIO could likely overtake & have a more profitable copper operation in Australia than BHP. I think RIO will turn the Paterson into an efficient operation similar to their Pilbara Iron Ore system, and that they probably have some project staff from iron ore developing the Winu copper/gold project.
What this means for AZY?... I don't know. But I think continued exploration success will just make this thing better for all, including ourselves.
Things could change very quickly once AZY enters into the ASX 300, and RIO makes the call about Calibre project development
