Honestly I think 12k is pipe dream for natural AAM. Syrah wanted to charge 5.4k per tonne for AAM, but who knows what price Tesla negotiated. They have not disclosed.
Synthetic AAM is a superior product. Fast charging with way more cycle life.
Currently synthetic active anode material goes for $11,000 per tonne, and by 2030 it is forecasted to be $9,000 per tonne. So syntehtic is getting cheaper.
Synthetic is considered more expensive than natural and is a better quality product. That's why Novonix have bigger valuation.
Only reason natural is blended with synthetic is because it's cheap.
No way we can charge more than Synthetic AAM.
