I won't pretend to know the answers as there is too much info we don't know. However from the announcement there have been improvements in the leach stage due to a "higher concentrate feed". To me this suggests a big portion of any gains has been made in the flotation stage in order to get the higher concentrate grades. The benefit of this is obviously you need a smaller leach plant and less reagents to treat bringing down opex.

In my opinion it doesn't sound like a novel process, just tweaks to get the flowsheet right based on existing methods (could be wrong).

Pine van Wyk as a metallurgical engineer is a pretty handy person to have on board. And with the benefit of hindsight his appointment seems fairly obvious given this period of work we are heading into. We obviously want him to be putting some hours and input into refining our flowsheet.
