At this stage I agree absolutely. The board should have made a stronger appointment and if she doesn't achieve the targets it is their failure, not hers. Though, if this destroys her future career then she can only blame herself for taking a role she wasn't ready for. (I don't believe it will but that is the risk she has taken).
