To make money perhaps!!, .... at some point the outlook for most of us.

I do not think anybody can deny that significant money was made by those trading this stock when it was in its 'hey day'!

Believe that this can apply to any up and comer, in its infancy/fairy tale phase, UNTIL well and truly on the path to profitability.

Also a fact, perhaps, that anyone who did not sell on the way down from its hey day is well and truly down on their capital, the need to average down, perhaps, leading to a 'over weight' position on this stock, in their portfolio.

We may indeed be very fortunate to have invested in a stock that WILL reward us for our faith, there are many more stocks that WILL not reward 'their' faithful holders ..... that is the shark pool they call the ASX.

The luxury of holding a speccy, over a long time period, that may or may not make it, is something that some may not have, due to financial constraints. To these investors you can say, as you said, 'sorry for your loss', appropriate comment expressing empathy, disparaging remarks not so 'appropriate'.
