We were told that the clean up technology used in earlier nearby wells was inadequate, and newer techniques achieve much better outcomes. This led to 50/50 COS, and what could go wrong?

I believe any issues enciuntered during drilling would have been brought to the attention of the Empire Operations Manager. At that point it would be expected that a decision be made about how to deal with what ever the problem might have been. No doubt that decision making process involves taking advice where required, and that process could occur numerous times depending on circumstances at hand.

Why do I have suspicions that at a significant point in drilling the well, problems were encountered and reported, and the decision to press on regardless was made by someone? There was presumably a point of no turning back, and now here we are?

Lets hope on hope that something can be salvaged from this very costly project.

You can tell Healyn that the first idiots must have drilled about 10 wells that were no good before they drill 2 good wells that he must have known but failed to mention so they have a bit of leeway to come good in comparison to one another.
What was the point of your post must have been posted a few time in the same vain it is done and dusted and we still have the future your brother could even get some water for his farm.
