I suspect it is just a sop to all the VTG shareholders, but few would know what she is thinking. However instead of buying lower, she is buying higher and seemed to want to pay up, which is strange for an experienced business person, who is brilliant at managing costs.Maybe there is another explanation?
She also has so much cash after selling in 2016 that a tiny ripple of buying is not material to the SP IMO. I also suspect that possibly somebody acted on the inside info of Maxine's buying on the 12th and 13th Sep, and might now be a bit stuck.
Still maybe somebody with a different point of view will get excited and buy up on this news? Usually there is a brief spike after such news - surprised there hasn't been one yet.
