I've sometimes thought about business announcements.

Of late, there seems to be a whole new industry started up by big law firms with deep pockets who are circling like sharks waiting for a company to 'slip-up' in some way so it can start a class action on behalf of aggrieved shareholders.

Any company must know that the more information it imparts can work to the benefit of these legal-eagles who are looking for a way to exploit it to their own advantage.

So the result has been, rather than companies keeping shareholders informed, companies actually provide no more information than they're required to in a format that uses as few words as possible.

Can't blame them.
