Ownership of data is a grey area in most industries. Take banking for example, where there is a push for open data in Australia so fintech companies could provided tailored product leveraging customer insights. Open data in banking is already happening in the U.K.
In the case of Catapult, I am not 100% sure too. However all the algorithms that Cat has created are proprietary, and not easy and fast to replicate even if other companies would have access to historical players data. That is why churn is very small
