I wasn't trying to be smart with my observations, I find it really helps to understand the business models of each stock I go into and the various factors / risks which may apply.
Once there are drought breaking rains, then it will be full steam ahead again. A bit of a delay maybe but the appetite in China etc for feed must be significant.
A friend worked in China for 18 months setting up dairy processing facilities until abut 12 months ago. (He is from NZ and was the Manager of the Dunsandle (south of Christchurch) processing factory of NZ Synlait until a few years ago. The dairy cows are treated very well he said and the photos he sent they looked very contented. There is risk of China sourcing from elsewhere but that is the vagaries of commodities to the weather cycles.
