If I was a strong and smart candidate being considered for the CEO job - I'd first wait and see what is happening with the "takeover". As it was rumored (AFR) the company was in play. Working under a PE firm can create either immense opportunities or be really miserable. I reckon that is why you have seen delays in CEO recruitment, big signal/hint to the market.
