I was very tempted to post something yesterday.
You shouldn't invest in a share market thinking positive news will increase the SP. It depends on what are your entry points may be market has already priced in the positive news which everyone is expecting.
Before you invest in the market you should always esatablish your entry/exit points and if you are a short trader you should be dealing in range trading which I suppose you are not.
As one trader to other, you need to invest in the fundamentals of the stock, not in SP.
Ask yourself..
What is year on year performance?
What does dividend payout means for the business? etc etc
Do you think the forecast which the company has advised shareholders is not positive?
Do you think the Year on year performance of the business has slowed down?
Trading volume is decreasing? etc etc
Rise and fall will happen unless you have found a way where you trade only in a stock which goes up. If yes please share with us JK
Last thing I want to mention is that don't let your emotion tell you when to sell or buy Shares, invest in companies fundamental and make sure you stick to your entry and exit points such as you mentioned that you could have sold when SP was $1.79 but you didn't because you emotions said SP will keep going up. Hence no exit points established by you.
Warren Buffets and big investors wants you to sell good stock when the sharemarket is bearish and they are the buyers during a bearish trend and sellers during a bullish market. So DYOR but I think its a great stock which has given you good return couple of months ago it was trading at $1.20 when I got in and market priced in already the FY results hence it went to 1.79 range and currently sitting in 1.57-1.65 range. Which I have mentioned before is strong range for AX1. DYOR but I think SP will start picking up in Mid Oct onwards and SP will be stable from the 1st week of Oct unless something major again due to COVID in Melb or anywhere in Australia.
Investors will start accumulating good stocks late Oct early Nov expecting positive results during Dec due to Christmas and half year results..
