100% agree with you "that don't go into it blind" understanding fundamentals is a good way to invest or trade. There are few stocks which I trade and a few which I will be holding.
It is a bad way to get into the market if you are focussed on SP not the fundamentals of the stock.
However, nothing is guaranteed I hope we don't get "COVID pro plus" by the end of this year which will create a 2020 repeat scenario for the market.
I do hold ADH( which is retail (similar industry) CLW, AZJ(for 12 months perspective), OPT(6-12 months), and SXY(6-12 months)
But I have established my exit points if I hit them sooner I will find take my profit and will reinvest..
