The point is that Gladys Berjiklian and NSW Health quickly learn from the cruise ship and aged care mistakes that led to NSW having 54 deaths.

In contrast, Daniel Andrews and Victoria's Health Department did NOT learn from their arrogance re hotel quarantine that has meant 801 deaths (although the Vic death toll is now 820 from COVID-19).

NSW has handled the vast majority of quarantine arrivals from overseas. Victoria has banned international flights into Melbourne carrying passengers, so is not undertaking any quarantine for those. This is because the Victorian Labor Premier and his bureaucrats still lack confidence in its quarantining arrangements,and like in most of the other states apart from sensible NSW, appear to be pursuing an unachievable 'elimination strategy'.

You'll note that 820 is 14.64 times the 56 deaths in NSW, and adjusted for population (NSW being more populous), the disparity showcasing NSW's impressive performance is even more stark. That's fact!

Victorians - I am one - have suffered from greater job losses and more difficult, almost insurmountable conditions for business imposed by Daniel Andrews, yet the 'health outcomes' have been far worse than NSW. If you don't believe me, ask companies such as MYR (sales in Melbourne CBD store down more than in Sydney, and slower to recover), QUB (port container volumes down more in Victoria and restaurateurs like Chris Lucas' Chin Chin (group) who's faced with shortly potentially sacking many staff if restrictions in Melbourne aren't decreased.
