    From AFR again - April 23, 2018; https://www.afr. com/companies/retail/myer-appoints-former-house-of-fraser-chief-john-king-as-ceo-20180423-h0z4m3

..... “Mr King, who started his retail career at supermarket retailer Sainsbury's in the 1980s and ran clothing and homewares chain Matalan for three years until joining House of Fraser in 2006, said he was excited to lead the iconic Australian company.
"Like all global retailers,[Myer] is facing significant change in both the retail environment and consumer shopping habits. I'm looking forward to the challenges and opportunities of this role," he said.
Mr King will be paid a fixed salary of $1.2 million a year, a $900,000 sign-on bonus in the form of share rights, and could earn short-term incentives worth 80 per cent of his fixed salary and long-term incentives equivalent to 117 per cent if relevant performance measures are achieved.
In the event of a takeover or change of control – which analysts believe is looking increasingly likely – Mr King will be entitled to at least 12 months' pay.

Mr King left House of Fraser in February 2015, after eight years at the helm, just months after the storied UK retailer was acquired by China's Sanpower Group for £480 million.
During his time at House of Fraser Mr King and his team grew the retailer's range of exclusive brands and private labels, ramped up its multi-channel retail capabilities, and refurbished more than 70 per cent of the stores while delivering improved underlying earnings and reducing debt.

Since the Sanpower acquisition, House of Fraser, like Myer, has fallen on hard times. Last week House of Fraser appointed KPMG to advise on a restructuring plan that is expected to include store closures and job losses and could see the retailer undertake a company voluntary arrangement (CVA).

For the past three years, Mr King has been living and working in the United States, consulting to US-based retailers and working with a number of start-ups.
In 2016, he acquired a stake in UK sportswear brand Raging Bull alongside former House of Fraser finance director Stefan Cassar.
He also chairs communications and cyber-security company Kinetic Six.”

[15/10/2019 Rugby lifestyle brand Raging Bull has this week launched into 20 Myer department stores across Australia, as part of its ongoing expansion plans. ]... “Raging Bull currently has around 200 UK stockists and has 20 stockists worldwide. The lifestyle brand is primarily sold through House of Fraser concessions, online with Debenhams and its own ecommerce site, as well as being stocked in around 100 UK independents.”

His Raging Bull enterprise seems to be going great guns .... and already sold by Amazon AND Sports Direct Australia (which may not be a relative of the UK bunch).
