Pleasing that by 1035 on Thursday 25 February 2021, a day after the above, the share price has recovered to just below $13.00.
It's illogical that because a company announces the retirement of a long serving CEO and replaces him/her with another staff member who's been there for 20 years that the share price should hugely drop as it did yesterday.
Granted, Mr Martin Ward was obviously an amazingly good CEO but no two individuals have identical skillsets and we may well find in time that Mr Keith Thornton and his management colleagues prove as adept as Mr Ward.
The company is well run and has weathered two years' plus of unfavourable trading conditions, including eight months of the coronavirus panic by State politicians, the latter outside APE's control. APE acted extremely quickly to successfully stem the damage and in the last three months has thankfully seen a marked improvement in trading.
