Port Kembla is capable of making the necessary grades for sub building and they can cast the wider 300mm section and therefore could supply the bulk of the steel which would probably be closer to 5,000 tonne/sub. Still no big deal tonnage wise but I’d be disappointed if we didn’t make it all here as there’s no reason to be buying it from china or anyone else for that matter so lets see who's buddies end up getting the many billion dollar cheques from this defence deal.
