The gambling in question is “problem gambling”. it is now bipartisan policy to prevent problem gambling although Labor’s policy is too little, too late IMHO.
The poker machines are a massive problem in Greater Sydney, Northern NSW, Nevada AZ, and that should be stopped and as you say “banned”.
Perrottet should ban them and ban the production of the machines as should Biden and Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland.
Aristocrat is where they are manufactured so Biden, or his AG Merrick Garland, Perrottet, or whomever comes after him, need to ban the new machines at the very least and probably look at the old machines.
The music, inbuilt programming, their potential for addiction, needs to be considered in the probe.
The probe would ideally be criminal but you need to be able to justify a criminal investigation legally, I think, in NSW to make such a probe sick and to allow for convictions later on?
