The ESG factor is a total furphy. Sorry, not by you, but the market commentators. There's a limited amount of businesses that would pass a "True" ESG filter. Look at banks...Mining is just the biggest con of all. BHP try to separate themselves from fossil fuels but keep their investments in coal!! Then there's energy and coal stocks in general. I could waste much more of everyone's time, but ESG is just a joke. Data centres planting a few trees...retailers underpaying staff. It goes on and on. Even at my work today, they spoke of the vision towards carbon neutral. They've decided to plant some trees in the back blocks. But right now, there's nowhere for people to live. The area has gone gangbusters since covid and many city dwellers want to move to the country. I'll bet my bottom dollar that those trees will be bulldozed into oblivion by diesel powered behemoths under the newest subdivision proposal that gets approval by crooked councilors.
The market is all about capitalism and making money. That's why you and I are both invested in gambling and debt. But I've gone ESG Neutral with planting a truck load of my money in healthcare!
