It is correct to say that the rollout of mandatory carded play has meant that many older machines will be scrapped.
The old product simply isnt able to be upgraded by manufacturers.
However what this actually means is that new machines are being purchased to keep up with the new systems.
We've kept EGMs that have been nearly two decades old because they're "classics". Now the entire stock must be refreshed.
