The experts write a lot about the psychology of retail punters- behavioural finance they call it. I read all this stuff and I recognise that they are talking about me.
Mug punters, prime example typing as we speak, have a habit of selling and then waiting too long to buy back- we keep waiting for the perfect price- and then we miss out.
Knowing the above- I am learning to buy at a good price- but leaving enough room to buy more if a more perfect price becomes available. Then if she rallies without hitting the perfect price- I still do well.
The trap is buying too many when averaging down- working on that.
Oh, and I enjoy all this.
