Agri businesses tend to be boom or bust from season to season. Weather, supply from other regions, China buying etc, all difficult to predict.
Look at dairy companies, a lot are struggling at the moment because farm gate milk prices are at all time highs in Australia while commodity prices for dairy have been struggling for over 12 months (some recovery recently). Outcomes can change next season if commodity prices improve for example.
The F23 challenges that SHV outlined can all change and based on the commentary there are some positive signs, yet some risks also remains, i.e. China demand, USA supply and grade quality.
I entered my first position yesterday at $3.99. Hoping for a bounce back to $4+ next week. If the slide continues, I'll exit.
