almond harvest from California is again forecasted be one of the highest
Whilst it is forecast to be one of the highest, the extent of that forecast is showing clear signs to have been overstated with the subjective forecast in May 2023 of 2.5b pounds and the objective report in July 2023 of 2.6b pounds.
Based on the crop receipts to date the expectation is for the almond harvest to come in around 2.4b pounds with the number of rejects running at 4.08% of the total harvest, more than double previous years.
As a result of the lower actual harvest and higher level of rejects the almond price has been increasing at a time that the SHV share price has been dropping.
