Normal practice to get all the dirty washing out of the way so writing down assets is purely an accounting measure which has no effect on cash flow.
On the positive front the forward looking price on coal for the next few years gives a clear indication that income will have a significant increase as I feel reasonably confident the cost of production as indicated in results will show healthy margin. The fact company has just paid off $178m since year end gives us a glimpse of the earnings potential with sky high coal prices .
